Danielle is a historian of the Roman world, especially the Late Republic and Empire. Her research focuses on the processes of identity construction and belonging in colonized spaces and her current book project re-centers marginalized people in the Roman world by investigating the overlapping and intersecting expressions of indigenous, colonized, and colonizing identity in the ancient Maghreb. Through research trips to the Maghreb, she has also become interested in contemporary North African claims of inheritance of the Punic empire and how those claims mirror and complicate parallel claims of Greco-Roman inheritance made by Europe and the US. 

Danielle has been on various excavations around the Mediterranean and is currently involved in a digital archaeology project at Morgantina. In her free time she enjoys watching movies, hanging out at the climbing gym, and hunting for donuts with friends.
